What Is The Third Eye?

You may have seen me mention the third eye before, and opening the third eye. But some of you may not know what a third eye is. This post is for those people who want to know more about the third eye, what it does, and why anyone would want to open it.

Your third eye is one of the main energy centers in your body. These energy centers allow energy to flow through and around you so that your body can sustain life and health. Each energy center has a different function. The third eye functions as your connection to intuition.

The color associated with the third eye is indigo, which is a dark blue color.

The third eye is what allows people to have a "sixth sense" or psychic abilities. This is where you are able to perceive reality outside of the normal range that most people use. So, for example, you are able to hear outside of the range that is "supposed" to be perceived by humans. And in that case, you would be able to hear energy, spirits, ghosts, and other things that operate on a lower or higher frequency.

This also goes for seeing, tasting, smelling, feeling, etc. All of the senses are involved. When someone has a prophetic vision, it is because their third eye is open and they are in a calm state. They are able to pick up on subtleties that most cannot.

Working on your third eye increases your intuition and spiritual abilities. Usually the abilities that open up first are your more natural abilities. But if you continue to work at it, other abilities will also start to open up. A certain ability may come effortlessly to you, but another ability may take years to hone in on. This is completely normal. It takes time to learn and develop.

Some abilities you might notice after you open your third eye are seeing and talking to dead loved ones, astral projection and remote viewing, seeing spirits and angels, healing abilities, and the ability to feel other's emotions. The list goes on. Again, not all of these abilities open up at once. There will be some that you notice at first and others that take years to come along. It's different for everyone.

Now you might be getting an idea of why someone would want to work on their third eye to open and develop it. These abilities to sense beyond the usual reality are very helpful in life. You could get a bad feeling about a party, almost like a message from above that tells you not to go. Later on you find out that someone was shot and killed at that party. Your intuition spoke to you and told you not to go.

There are also negative effects of opening the third eye. Namely, you might see and hear things that are frightening and make you afraid to be alone. That is why everyone should use caution when working with the third eye. Protect yourself, and also work on the other chakras equally as much. Do not just focus on your third eye. All chakras have vital functions and there needs to be a balance.
