This is a chunk of raw quartz crystal. I actually have no idea where it came from or when I got it. Crystals sometimes have this mysterious way of coming into your life without you knowing. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful and nice-sized chunk of quartz as you can see.

Clear quartz is a stone of clearing, which makes sense because it is clear. It clears away negative thoughts. The sun illuminates this stone and makes it that much more beautiful and bright. It's important to expose your quartz to sunlight once in a while. You don't want to go too long without letting them get some sun. This charges them up with sunlight and energy.

I've always heard you can't go wrong with clear quartz, and I believe it. Even those who know nothing about crystals enjoy looking at clear quartz and collecting the stones to place on shelves as decorations for the house. It's a beautiful stone to show off.

How To Use A Clear Quartz

Clear quartz, like the one shown in these pictures, can be used in meditation. Hold the stone in the palm of you hand and meditate. You can use some music if you prefer or you can meditate in silence. Either way is fine. For those who are new to meditation, I always suggest trying out a guided meditation on Youtube.

In a guided meditation, a person will talk you through the meditation, telling you what to visualize and think about. This can keep newbies on track throughout the meditation, because we often get into the habit of drifting off into thought. Most of the time what we are thinking about is either in the past or future. It's important to stay present during a meditation. We want to stay in the present moment and not think about our past or future.

Meditating with a quartz in hand will increase the benefits of the quartz.

Cleansing A Quartz Crystal

When you have used a crystal a lot, it's usually time to cleanse the crystal. Quartz crystal is one of the stones that can be placed in salt for cleansing. Place the crystal on top of some salt in a bowl. If you have a Himalayan salt lamp, you can place the crystal near the salt lamp as well.

There is more than one way to cleanse a crystal. You can use sage smoke, sunlight, or moonlight as well. Leaving your clear quartz out in sunlight will not hurt the stone like some others. Other stones' colors may fade if you leave them out in direct sunlight often for too long. Clear quartz can be placed in sunlight with no problems.

Taking care of a clear quartz is pretty simple. They are super durable stones and it's easy to care for them.
